Reasons for Giving
The Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park is a millennium Gift to the citizens and visitors of the Erie area. The mission of LEAF is to promote education and enjoyment of nature by planning and maintaining a diverse species of trees. LEAF continues to raise funds to allow for the maintenance of the garden, as well as to continue planting a diverse species of trees and provide educational programs for all ages of students.
- Park Bench: Cost: $1,000
- Sponsor a teak bench at the park
- The bench will be placed at a location agreed upon by the donor and LEAF
- A small brass plaque with an engraved inscription of the donors choice
- Building Bridges Sponsor: Cost: $500
- Contribute to the building of bridges that span Cascade Creek
- A plaque with an engraved inscription of the donors choice
- Plant a New Tree: Cost: $750
- New tree of planted at LEAF
- A 6" x 8" plaque placed at the tree listing the common name and Latin name, as well as an inscription determined by the donor
- Type of tree chosen by the donor from LEAF's list of desired trees
- $500 of the gift placed in LEAF Endowment Fund at the Erie Community Foundation to ensure the maintenance of the tree in perpetuity
- Sponsor a New Tree: Cost: $500
- Sponsor a tree that LEAF planted in the arboretum since 1998
- A 6" x 8" plaque placed at the tree listing the common name and Latin name, as well as an inscription determined by the donor
- Type of tree limited to those planted by LEAF and not yet sponsored
- $250 of the gift placed in LEAF Endowment Fund at the Erie Community Foundation to ensure the maintenance of the tree in perpetuity
- Adopt an Existing Tree: Cost: $250
- Sponsor a tree that existed in the park prior to the arboretum's creation
- A 6" x 8" plaque placed at the tree listing the common name and Latin name, as well as an inscription determined by the donor
- Type of tree limited to those that were existing in the park and not yet sponsored
- Sponsor a Park Structure: Cost Varies
- Sponsor a large park structure such as a gazebo or foot bridge
- The donor's name will be placed on a plaque at the structure
- The gift will be placed in the endowment fund to provide for future maintenance of the structure
- Stock Gift:
- LEAF accepts gifts of stock
- The LEAF staff is available to offer assistance to anyone wishing to make a gift to LEAF in this manner
- Gift of Cash:
- A gift of cash is the simplest and most direct way of supporting LEAF
- Sponsor a Paver: Cost: $50
- Sponsor a paver surrounding one of the Information Kiosks
- The paver will be engraved with the inscription of the donor's choice
- There will be a limit of 3 lines and 10 characters per line
- Membership: Cost: $30
- Become a member of the arboretum
- Receive the LEAF newsletter
- Get an advance notice of LEAF events
- Help support the arboretum project
