POETRY IN THE PARK 

(FRONTIER PARK, THAT IS)

Please join us for our first evening of poetry in the park at the outdoor amphitheatre (by the tennis courts)...  Bring your lawn chair ... Local Erie poets have been performing for five years on a regular basis at the Erie Book Store... now they're live and in the park !

Arts @ the Arboretum 2009 

Free Concert Schedule presented by LEAF (Lake Erie at Frontier Park Arboretum) 

All concerts are Thursday nights from 7PM to 8:30PM at the outdoor amphitheatre in Frontier Park, located behind the tennis courts (and down the hill) on West 6th Street. Parking is by the tennis courts and off Sixth Street .Concert goers may want to bring a blanket or folding beach chair?. 

 

July 9th ? Ischabaha ? a Celtic, roots-oriented folk band which plays traditional and contemporary folk ? playing since 1999 (Jim, Dan, Mike, Dan, Tillie, Sue)

 

July 16th  - Selah Praise Band ? a Christian band from Our Lady of Peace Parish with several CD?s to their name, "We Are One Body" and "Love Has Come"

 

July 23rd  - Bus 17 ? an acoustic trio rock, pop, and easy listening band consisting of Dave Slubowski, Joe Lish and Pat Lorei, recently their single "Nothing but Time" reviewed; see <www.rockerie.com/jamroom/BUS_17      Band trademarks are "cool songs which have drifted away from mainstream radio". 

 

July 30th ? The Night Cruisers (Brian Stamm, John O?Camb, Andy Martin, Nathaniel Moore)  www.thenightcruisers.com  (formerly "The Hubcaps)  "Keeping Rock Alive Since 2005" ? songs from the 50?s through the 80?s from Johnny Cash to the Stray Cats

 

August 6th ? PD and the Katz ? an acoustic classic rock band playing in the Erie area since 2006; cover tunes from the 60?s through 80?s; band members are Diane Sanfilippo, Mark Krasinski, John Pontoriero and Rick Moreland

 

August 13th ? Sturtevant & Amatangelo  - Jazz standards with a fun blend of folk and blues ? Female vocalist Betty Amatangelo has performed with the Bay City Band, Contour, Jim Madden Quartet and Jazz Erie singer?s night, most recently collaborating with Dave Sturtevant. Dave learned singing and fiddle from his father, and his songs have been performed by many nationally touring folk musicians, Dave also plays with the James Madden Quartet, and is a well- respected musician in the Erie landscape.
